Parnell Park unavailable for U-21 hurling semi
It has emerged that Parnell Park will not host this Saturday's Bord Gais Energy GAA All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship semi-final between Antrim and Kilkenny, due to a heavy schedule of club fixtures at the north Dublin venue.
According to today's Irish Examiner, Parnell Park is unavailable because of club fixtures, although no club games have been fixed for the Donnycarney ground for Saturday according to the Dublin GAA fixtures list.
However, there is a busy schedule of Dublin Senior Football Championship games, with three of the capital's 11 SFC ties this week set to take place at Parnell Park.
The action begins tonight with a double-header involving St Brigids, Erin's Isle, Na Fianna and Kilmacud Crokes.
It is as yet unknown where the Antrim v Kilkenny game will now take place, although it is understood that Pairc Tailteann in Navan and Pairc Esler in Newry may be considered.
The other semi-final sees first-time Munster champions Clare pitted against Galway in a 2pm throw-in at Semple Stadium, Thurles on Saturday. That game will be broadcast live on TG4.
The All-Ireland Under-21 decider has been set for Croke Park on September 13, as part of a triple-header with the Gala All-Ireland Senior and Junior Camogie Championship finals.
