The GAA have made two new appointments with the installation of journalist Alan Milton as the Association's Communications Manager and Patrick Doherty being appointed to the Games Section of the GAA.

The GAA have made two new appointments with the installation of journalist Alan Milton as the Association's Communications Manager and Patrick Doherty being appointed to the Games Section of the GAA.

Milton is currently the GAA Editor of the Irish Sun and has previously worked as a GAA journalist with the Irish Sun and Star/Independent News Group.

He is a member of the Leinster GAA Public Relations and IT Committee and the Dublin County Board Communications Committee. Currently Chairman of Round Tower GAA Club Clondalkin, he plays football at Intermediate level.

He will work with the communications team on developing effective internal and eternal communication throughout the Association. Communicating with volunteers, clubs, officers, media and other key audiences will be part of Milton's role.

Doherty will join the Games Section of the GAA where he will work on the implementation of the Association's National Fixture Programme.

He is secretary of the National Feile Na nGael Committee and was PRO of Westmeath GAA for seven years prior to joining the Croke Park team in the Communications Department in March of this year.

A member and former player of The Downs GAA Club in Westmeath, Patrick also played with Delvin GAA Club.

The pair will both take up their positions early in the New Year.
