Gardaí investigate disappearance of Waterford GAA funds
Gardaí in Waterford have begun an investigation into the disappearance of a large amount of funds from the local GAA County Board.
Board chairman Pat Flynn convened a meeting in Dungarvan last night to inform delegates about the significant shortfall in funds, reported to be more than €140,000.
The deficit is understood to be related to the sale of championship tickets in 2007.
A spokesman says the issue is being dealt with through legal channels and the County Board is not in a position to make any statement on the matter.
