Fermanagh game with Limerick postponed

The footballers of Fermanagh have yet to play a game in this season's National League after their second round clash with Limerick fell victim to the weather.

Dense fog in Lisnakea resulted in referee Jimmy McKee postponing today's Division 3 tie between the counties on the grounds of player safety.

The decision was taken after a pitch inspection at 12.45pm. Fermanagh's opening game away to Leitrim a fortnight ago was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Strangely, this is the second year running that fog has claimed the Fermanagh v Limerick fixture.

A new date for the game is likely to be discussed at Tuesday's meeting of the GAA's CCCC (Central Competitions Control Committee).
