McGrath's injury jinx continues
Fermanagh midfielder Martin McGrath's bad luck with injuries continued last weekend when he was injured in a freak accident involving a digger.
The Ederney clubman is set to miss Fermanagh's entire All-Ireland qualifier campaign after sustaining a broken bone around his eye-socket.
McGrath was working with his brother Tony on the family farm near Ederney, trying to clear a drain, when part of the digger they were using struck him in the face.
The 2004 All-Star, who played at full-forward for Fermanagh in their Ulster SFC defeat to Tyrone last month, was rushed to the Erne Hospital where he is still recovering.
It is wretched luck for McGrath, who had high hopes of inspiring the Ernsiders through the qualifier route.
The 28-year-old was forced to have two heart operations last season, while his championship comeback was disrupted by an ankle injury.
He was also laid low in 2005 by a viral infection.
