Mulligan set for Croke Park hearing
Tyrone forward Owen Mulligan is due at Croke Park this evening for a hearing over the eight-week suspension he was hit with for receiving two straight red cards within a 48-week period.
Mulligan saw red in two recent National Football League games - he was dismissed for striking during the February 24 clash with Cork, and a sliding tackle against Mayo on April 8.
If he fails to have his ban overturned, the Cookstown ace will miss Tyrone's Ulster SFC opener against Fermanagh on May 20. The ban rules him out of football until June 3.
The 25-year-old Mulligan is expected to be accompanied by Tyrone County Board secretary Dominic McGaughey this evening.
There is better news on the injury front for Tyrone manager Mickey Harte who expects both Stephen O'Neill (hamstring) and Sean Cavanagh (foot) to be fit for the Fermanagh game.
