GAA to investigate assault on referee in Co Kerry
GAA officials in Kerry are expected to launch a formal investigation into an attack on a referee following a minor football match on Sunday.
Michael Curran was assaulted by a mob of supporters at the end of the match between South Kerry rivals Waterville and Skellig Rangers in Caherciveen.
Waterville won the game by one point thanks to an injury-time goal and Skellig Rangers fans were furious at the amount of added time allowed by the referee.
One supporter is said to have kicked him in the stomach, while others spat at him and punched him about the head.
