Fitzgerald Stadium set for revamp
Tomorrow will see the launch of a new redevelopment programme for Fitzgerald Stadium in Kerry.
The Killarney venue is set to become the country's second largest stadium with its capacity bumped up from 41,000 to 55,000.
The cost of the redevelopment is €3m.
A five-year refinancing plan, overseen by the Fitzgerald Stadium Finance and Management Committee, has seen a €1m deficit quashed.
Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, Mr John O'Donoghue, GAA President Sean Kelly and Kerry County Board Chairman Sean Walsh will launch the redvelopment project in Killarney tomorrow.
The GAA's two-day Annual Congress begins at the Great Southern Hotel in Killarney on Friday.
