Camogie all-star nominations revealed
A total of 37 players have been nominated for the 2005 Camogie All-Star awards.
As expected, All-Ireland champions Cork top the bill with ten nominations. Runners-up Tipperary have seven, Wexford six, Galway and Dublin four, Kilkenny and Clare two and Limerick and Laois one apiece.
The All-Star team will be announced live on Saturday, November 12 at a gala banquet in Dublin's City West Hotel.
The individual awards, crafted by Jarlath Daly, will be presented by the guest of honour Ossie Kilkenny, the Chairman of the Irish Sports Council, and Miriam O’Callaghan, President of Camogie Association (Cumann Camógaíochta na nGael).
Nine of last year's All-Star winners are nominated again, while Rebelette duo Rena Buckley and Briege Corkery have the honour of also being nominated for a Ladies Football All-Star.
Four players from the minor grade have been nominated for "Young Player of the Year" - Colette McSorley (Armagh), Katie Power (Kilkenny), Siobhán Flannery (Offaly), Aoife McLoughney (Tipperary).
A new addition to the awards this year is the "Manager of the Year" award. Sharon Glynn (Galway), John Cronin (Cork) and Peter Lucey (Dublin) are in the running for the gong.
