Antrim keep Culbert on
Former St Gall's boss Mickey Culbert is to remain in charge of Antrim's senior footballers for at least another year.
Culbert, who took over from PJ O'Hare exactly twelve months ago, was re-appointed at the Antrim County Board's latest meeting.
An Under-21 All-Ireland medallist with the Saffrons in 1969, Culbert led Antrim to four league wins in 2005, but after losing in Ulster to Cavan after a replay, thy were hammered 0-13 to 5-12 by Meath in the first round of the All-Ireland qualifiers.
Culbert's first goal for the new season is to get backing from the County Board to increase his squad size from 24 to 30.
Meanwhile, the Antrim County Board are stepping up their bid to find a suitable successor to Dinny Cahill as the county's senior hurling manager.
Five men - Jim McKernan, Paul McKillen, Sean McNaughton, David Foley and Sean O'Farrell - have been nominated for the position, which was vacated by Tipperary native Cahill in the summer after a four-year stint.
