Limerick selector Nash steps down

Former inter-county defender Declan Nash has today resigned from his position as selector with the Limerick hurlers.

Nash, an essential part of the Limerick line-up as a player throughout the 1990s, has surprisingly stepped down ahead of the Shannonsiders' All-Ireland SHC quarter-final tie with Kilkenny on Sunday week.

The Limerick county board have confirmed that a replacement for Nash, who continued on as a selector through the managerial changeover between Padjoe Whelehan and present incumbent Joe McKenna, is unlikely to be sought before that Croke Park game.

Meanwhile, Limerick's star midfielder Donal O'Grady looks a certain non-starter for the clash with the Cats with a broken thumb.
