Kearns keeps faith with Limerick side

Limerick manager Liam Kearns has rewarded his charges for their earnest win over Carlow with no further changes for Sunday's All-Ireland third round qualifier against Derry in Carlow.

Kearns' stated goal is to now secure a qualifier appearance at Croke Park and if the Shannonsiders can continue on the form which saw them blitz Carlow by 14 points, then they stand every chance.

Apart from the loss of Jason Stokes and a few positional changes, Limerick have been working off a settled side for their two championship outings in 2005.

Stokes, who re-injured his leg against Kerry in the Munster semi-final loss last month, has to make do with a place on the bench this time as Kearns has stuck with the same side that ran out comfortable 2-15 to 0-7 winners over Carlow.

Michael Reidy, who bagged the Shannonsiders' two goals at Dr Cullen Park, starts again at full-forward, with John Galvin remaining as the midfield anchor.

Dual players Stephen Lucey and Conor Fitzgerald are again pencilled in to start.

Limerick are meeting Derry for the second successive year after having never previously clashed with the Oak Leafers in the senior championship. Derry emerged victorious last year by 0-10 to 0-6 in the fourth round of the qualifiers.

LIMERICK (SFC v Derry): S O’Donnell; T Stack, C Mullane, J McCarthy; P Browne, S Lucey, S Lavin; J Quane, J Galvin; S Kelly, M Gavin (capt), S Buckley; C Fitzgerald, M Reidy, M Crowley.
