The race for the Galway hurling manager's job has been reduced to two candidates after former boss Noel Lane withdrew from the running.

The race for the Galway hurling manager's job has been reduced to two candidates after former boss Noel Lane withdrew from the running.

Current boss Conor Hayes and Lane's predecessor Mattie Murphy will now battle it out and the appointment is expected to be announced next Monday.
