Funeral of Cormac McAnallen to take place today
The funeral of Tyrone footballer Cormac McAnallen is due to take place in his home town of Eglish today.
Thousands of mourners are expected to attend the funeral, including Mr McAnallen’s parents and his fiancee, Ashlene Moore.
Sports Minister John O’Donoghue will be present on behalf of the Government, while President Mary McAleese will be represented by he aide de camp.
Mr McAnallen’s colleagues from the GAA and from St Catherine’s College in Armagh, where he worked as a schoolteacher, are also expected to attend.
The 24-year-old died suddenly on Tuesday morning from a rare viral infection of the heart.
