Clare boss Daly told to be 'ruthless'

New Clare hurling boss Anthony Daly has been urged to leave no stone unturned and be "totally ruthless" if he wants to get the Banner back on track.

Former All-Ireland winning skipper Daly has been handed the task of going one better than previous boss Cyril Lyons who reached the title decider in 2001.

County secretary Pat Fitzgerald said: "Could he (Daly) be totally ruthless to players some of whom he had become good friends with? He will have to if he is to succeed."
