Bail application by man accused of stabbing his partner 15 times and assaulting their daughter

The High Court is to hear a bail application for a man accused of inflicting 15 stab and defensive wounds on his partner and assault causing harm to their adult daughter.

A bail appeal is to be made in the High Court by a man accused of inflicting 15 stab and defensive wounds on his partner and also fracturing her cheekbone as well as being charged with assault causing harm to their adult daughter.

The 42-year-old man appeared at Cork District Court by video link from prison. Solicitor Frank Buttimer said that he was not in a position to act because of industrial action over free legal aid. He did say that the accused had a High Court bail appeal pending.
