Carter quits Kilkenny hurling

Kilkenny captain Charlie Carter has announced his retirement from inter-county hurling, according to reports.

The 32-year-old Young Ireland clubman had been unable to hold down a first 15 place, despite holding the captaincy of the All-Ireland champions this year.
