Carroll doubtful for Tipp

Tipperary Allstar hurler John Carroll is rated doubtful for Sunday's clash with Galway in the Allianz National Hurling tie at Semple Stadium.

Carroll picked up a back injury in last Sunday's pulsating game against All-Ireland champions Kilkenny having shipped a number of heavy tackles.

He is due to train with the squad tonight when a full assessment of his fitness will be made.

Captain Brian O'Meara will still be unavailable having broken two toes in the game against Cork.

This means that Tipperary are likely to be missing two of their regular half forward line members.
