Mayo boss says McDonald can "wear tights" if he wants

Mayo football boss John Maughan has told star player Kieran McDonald he can become a cross dresser if he wants - and still play for Mayo.

Crossmolina were fined €550 for McDonald's white socks in the All-Ireland club semi-final against Dunshaughlin which weren't part of the team uniform.

Maughan said: "If Kieran wants to wear tights I couldn't give a damn. The fine, and the rule, is petty and pathetic."
