Dublin star Curran announces retirement

Former Footballer of the Year Paul Curran has announced his retirement from the game at the age of 33.

The Thomas Davis-club man steered Dublin to their last All-Ireland win in 1995 and is the son of former Meath All-Ireland winner Noel.

Influential wing-back Curran said: "I just haven't got the interest I had five years ago.

"I'm not prepared to do the heavy stuff you have to do nowadays."
