Dublin SFC result promised

Dublin County Board Chairman John Bailey has revealed Saturday's SFC final between UCD and St Vincent's will be finished on the day - at all costs.

The Dublin champs are out the following day against Wicklow holders Rathnew in the Leinster SFC so a winner has to be elected on the day.

Bailey said: "We'll just go on playing until we get a conclusive result, even if we have to go into a second 30-minute period of extra-time.

The idea of a sudden death play-off had been mooted but Bailey dismissed it outright insisting: "There is no provision in the rules for such an arrangement."
