Tompkins hits out at Canty omission

Cork football manager Larry Tompkins has lashed out at the all-star selection committee who controversially omitted Graham Canty from their 45-man short-list.

The list was announced this week and the big surprise was the omission of Canty, named as Ireland's International Rules player of the series this month.

Canty was inspirational this year switching from centre-back to midfield to bolster up the Rebels middle third.

Tompkins fumed: "I'm completely lost for words at the decision. When I saw the list in the papers, I could not believe Graham was not included. I felt all along that both he and Colin Corkery would be automatically included on the actual 15."
