Dublin face difficult day against Wexford
The Dublin senior footballers begin their All Ireland campaign this evening against Wexford.
Dublin manager, Tommy Lyons, will hand championship debuts to three players - Barry Cahill, Paul Casey and Alan Brogan - but his side’s chances will rest heavily on the fitness of team captain, Dessie Farrell.
The ‘Na Fianna’ clubman was a doubt for the past week before finally declaring himself fit enough to lead the forward line.
The Dubs will have a difficult game ahead of them after Wexford, a county normally associated with hurling, produced some fine performances in the Allianz National Football League.
The match kicks-off at Dr Cullen Park in Carlow at 6:15pm.
