GAA: O'Dwyer central to Kildare victory

Ten points from Carl O’Dwyer gave Kildare a victory in a hard fought NFL tie at Newbridge.

The Lilywhites led by 1-7 to 1-6 at the break - John Doyle the goalscorer.

A late first half goal by Derry’s Padraig O’Neill gave the Northerners hope for he second half but Kildare, with O’Dwyer in fine shooting form, hung on for an excellent victory.
