We won’t be ‘lying down’, Tipperary insist as they prepare Seamus Callanan appeal
PRO Joe Bracken said Callanan is “very anxious” to have an appeal heard after he was dismissed during the second half following an off-the-ball incident involving Offaly’s Dermot Shortt.
And Bracken also stated that the Premier County will look to have the first yellow card received by Cathal Barrett rescinded.
Corner-back Barrett was later sent off for a second bookable offence as Tipp finished the six-point victory with 13 men.
Tipp are awaiting a DVD of the game from TG4, which should land this morning, before proceeding further with the appeals process.
In the meantime, GAA chiefs are expected to provide confirmation of a proposed one-match ban for Callanan today.
But Bracken insisted that Tipp will not take this punishment “lying down” and are hellbent on protecting their players.
