Former Cork captain Tomás Mulcahy believes that Jimmy Barry-Murphy should remain in charge of the county’s hurlers.

Barry-Murphy’s three-year term ended with Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Tipperary but Mulcahy is of the view that he deserves an extension.

“People might look at it and say that a change is needed after three years,” Mulcahy said, “but I think he’s still the best man for the job.
