Fennelly returns at centre-forward for Cats but no room for Shefflin, Walsh, Power or Fogarty
The 29-year-old suffered a back spasm on the Friday evening before the county’s drawn Leinster semi-final encounter with Galway. Fennelly missed the remainder of the provincial campaign, but has been passed fit to start at Croke Park. Colin Fennelly, centre-forward against Dublin last time out, moves to right corner.
Mark Kelly reclaims the No 14 shirt, having been overlooked in the Dublin and Galway fixtures.
The O’Loughlin Gaels hurler started against Offaly and Galway (drawn encounter), but was subsequently demoted to the bench. John Power is the player to lose out and there is no place on the starting team either for Henry Shefflin, Tommy Walsh or Aidan Fogarty.
Meanwhile, the Cork team to face Wexford in today’s All-Ireland intermediate hurling decider shows just the one change from the side which overcame Galway by 0-21 to 0-17 in the semi-final. U21 hurler Anthony Spillane is drafted in at left corner-forward, replacing the suspended Cormac Murphy.
