Cork hurling boss Jimmy Barry-Murphy hopes the county’s footballers can achieve the first leg of a Croke Park double over Dublin at GAA headquarters tonight.

The legendary dual star will be in the capital this evening cheering on Conor Counihan’s side and admits a victory against Jim Gavin’s men would be a “huge fillip to the whole county” as his hurlers count down to an All-Ireland semi-final against the Leinster champions on Sunday week.

“We’d love to see them winning,” he said of the footballers. “I’ll be up there supporting them anyway, I try to go to as many football games as I can.
