High hopes for crowd in Thurles

The Munster Council are still hoping for a crowd of around 15,000 for Sunday’s Munster SHC quarter-final in Thurles between Waterford and Clare.

High hopes for crowd in Thurles

However, ticket sales are believed to be slow in Waterford and it runs the risk of attracting lower than the 12,226 which attended last year’s provincial semi-final between the counties at Semple Stadium. Only 11,027 attended the counties’ 2010 Munster semi-final although that game was held on the June Bank Holiday Monday.

Prices have been cut for Sunday’s game, from €30 to €25 for a stand ticket and also reduced by €5 for the terraces to €15.
