Cork GAA chiefs are hopeful the new role of county board administrator can be filled in the coming weeks.

The decision to appoint an administrator — who would assume many of the responsibilities of the county secretary — was announced last September, while the closing date for applications was December 28.

Initially, it had been hoped the role could be filled by February 1, but this date has now been revised.
