Cill na Martra book derby clash against Éire Óg
The quarter-final against Fermoy in Blarney on Saturday was close for the majority of the first half but nearing the interval four unanswered points yielded a three-point cushion for the Muskerry men. While Fermoy cut the deficit to two points, Cill na Martra never looked in danger after shooting five consecutive points around the three-quarter mark.
The victors missed a penalty opportunity as well but still grabbed a goal inside five minutes. Brendan Lynch did the groundwork before Danny O’Connell found Mikey Dineen at the edge of the square and he put his side 1-1 to 0-1 ahead. But once Fermoy settled they replied with points from Jack Hutchings, Pádraigh de Róiste (two) and Ruari O’Hagan to take the lead five minutes from the break.
