Wicklow boss Harry Murphy fears captain Leighton Glynn sustained a broken ankle in yesterday’s defeat to Meath.

The Wicklow captain collided with Cian Ward in the early minutes of the second-half.

“Leighton, we don’t know yet,” said manager Harry Murphy. “He’s gone to the hospital. Please God, he’ll be okay.

“Their legs got wrapped up. It’s not great, he’s gone for an x-ray.” Glynn’s opposite number Seamus Kenny only lasted 10 minutes after also injuring himself giving away a free.

Seamus McEnaney said his skipper, who was on crutches afterwards, is believed to have damaged his medial ligaments.

“He probably looks to be in a bit of bother,” said McEnaney who also confirmed Graham Reilly sustained a dead leg.
