Meath and Longford bosses set for the stands

Meath and Longford could be in the unique position of having no managers on the line for their Leinster Minor FC opener in Pearse Park on Saturday.

Both Andy McEntee and Martin Mulleady were suspended for eight weeks following a clash between the pair during their sides’ Leinster league semi-final in Drumlish last month.

Mulleady was waiting to hear back this morning about his appeal but Meath secretary Cyril Creavin yesterday confirmed McEntee had accepted his suspension and will be in the stands for the game.

Mulleady is a Fianna Fáil councillor while McEntee is a brother of Fine Gael TD Shane, who is Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

The Longford-Meath game is one of three Leinster minor fixtures on Saturday which clash with Annual Congress in Portlaoise, while there are three games down for decision in the Munster minor campaign the same day.
