Munster chiefs overrule Tipp decision on Borris

Tipperary GAA chiefs have once again been left red-faced by the Munster Council after provincial top brass overruled a decision to relegate Borrisokane from the county senior hurling championship.

Munster chiefs overrule Tipp decision on Borris

Tipperary officials sent Borrisokane down to the intermediate ranks after the north club indicated they could not fulfil the relegation final against Ballybacon-Grange on February 25. But Borrisokane successfully appealed to the Munster Council and the Tipperary County Board CCC has been advised to refix the game.

This development is the latest twist in the long-running Tipperary SHC relegation saga which dates back to last September. And it is the second time the council has ruled against Tipperary county board. Cashel King Cormacs lost to Ballybacon-Grange in a relegation semi-final last September but took a successful case to the Munster Council, arguing that extra-time should not have been played.
