Tyrone manager Moane faces crunch league tie
Tyrone and Kildare meet at Healy Park, Omagh and the losers will find themselves cut adrift at the bottom of the table.
The Red Hands and the Lilywhites have both lost their opening two games and find themselves three points adrift of Donegal, Monaghan and Laois.
Moane acknowledges it is a perilous situation for Tyrone, who were All-Ireland finalists in 2010.
He said: “It’s a big game for both teams indeed but we’re not about to panic. It’s about developing the team as far as I’m concerned, bringing in new girls and blending them into the set-up.
“Against Laois last Sunday, we paid for a 10-minute spell after half-time which was a disaster from our point of view.”
Moane, in his first year in charge, explained a number of his players were unavailable ahead of the league campaign due to colleges commitments in the Dowd Cup and believes it will take time to develop a settled team and pattern of play.
He added: “It’s hard to get them all up to speed, but the positives are they’re mad keen and have progressed from the Meath game to the Laois game.
“If they can bring that on and be more clinical up front and not give away goals like we did after half-time last Sunday, we’ll be there or thereabouts as the season goes on.”
Moane added: “It’s my first season with them as well. We don’t know the best system to play until they play together as a team and we’ve had a number of injuries to contend with. Cathy Donnelly hasn’t kicked a ball, Lynda Donnelly has been out too and Maura Kelly is only back training after her honeymoon — she got married to Tyrone footballer Ryan McMenamin.
“But next Sunday is a crucial game and we also have Dublin, Monaghan and Cork to come in Omagh, with Donegal away.
“Division 1 is a tight grouping and if you don’t perform, you’ll get caught out and punished for mistakes.”
