Fitzmaurice bids to fire Finuge
Galvin, who endured a frustrating year with injuries, will be a key figure as Finuge aim to build on their semi-final victory over Listowel Emmetts and atone for three final defeats over the last nine years. Opponents Beale, who defeated reigning champions Tarbert in the semi-final, are looking to bridge a 22-year gap since their last championship success.
Meanwhile, Munster senior club champions Dr Crokes may be getting set for an All-Ireland semi-final showdown with Crossmaglen Rangers but local commitments will take precedent tomorrow at Fitzgerald Stadium at 2pm when they meet Glenflesk in the semi-final of the East Kerry SFC. The other East Kerry semi-final will see last year’s defeated finalists and this year’s Kerry senior club champions, Rathmore, who will be missing the injured Aidan O’Mahony, facing Seamus Scanlon’s Currow team.
Elsewhere, the Mid Kerry senior football championship, which has been delayed by the divisional side’s progress to the county senior final in October and Milltown/Castlemaine’s Munster intermediate championship winning run, begins this afternoon. Laune Rangers play Keel in Killorglin while another last eight clash takes place tomorrow when Glenbeigh/Glencar play host to Milltown/Castlemaine.
Munster junior champions Dromid Pearses, who got the better of Newcastle outfit Cú Chullain’s in Sunday’s All-Ireland JFC quarter-final in Birmingham, bid to reach the South Kerry senior championship final when they face Waterville this afternoon in Valentia.
St Mary’s (Caherciveen) await the winners.
