‘Nightmare’ trek ahead for Ulster champs
Instead, the side must take the bus to Dublin port and ferry themselves to Holyhead and them continue by road onto Birmingham, to face Fullen Gaels, Manchester on Sunday at 12.30pm.
“It’s a nightmare,” said manager Andrew Wallace. “Our first choice would have been to fly over, but with only a few days to arrange flights we could find nothing available so we are going to have to go by boat. That means a three-hour journey first to Dublin and then another three to four hours sitting on a bus the other side when we get off the boat. It is very unfair on the players and us as a club. I don’t see why they could not postpone the game for a week or two.”
