Kingdom lure O’Sullivan out of retirement

FOUR-TIME All-Ireland winner Seán O’Sullivan has returned to the Kerry squad for the 2012 season.

Kingdom lure O’Sullivan out of retirement

The Cromane clubman impressed for divisional side Mid Kerry en route to last month’s senior championship final and the attacker has been lured back by manager Jack O’Connor.

Having last featured for Kerry during their successful 2009 All-Ireland winning campaign, 32-year-old O’Sullivan, who played 34 championship games for the county, had agreed to take over as a Kerry minor selector in Mickey Ned O’Sullivan’s management team but has now vacated that role.

Mickey Ned revealed: “Seán feels he might have regrets down the line if he didn’t give it one more chance with Kerry, and that’s understandable. He feels he has unfinished business with Kerry.”

Peter Keane, who guided South Kerry side St Mary’s to an All-Ireland Club JFC title last season, will replace O’Sullivan as a Kerry minor selector.

Annascaul and Castlegregory have withdrawn from the West Kerry SFC as a mark of respect to the late Brendan O’Driscoll, an Annascaul and West Kerry footballer who tragically died late last month.
