THE use of goal-line technology in hurling and football has moved a giant step closer with the GAA’s confirmation yesterday that last April’s Hawk-Eye trial in Croke Park went off without a hitch.

Association chiefs met with the company’s operators this week to discuss its trial from the league finals and Croke Park officials are hoping to forward proposals on the issue to the Management Committee within the next month.

“They did those games into one goal and we reviewed a few things from those games,” said GAA president Christy Cooney yesterday.
