DOWN attacker Benny Coulter believed his first-half goal in yesterday’s All-Ireland semi-final was going to be disallowed for a square ball.

Thirteen minutes had elapsed when Coulter fisted a high delivery from Marty Clarke past goalkeeper Shane McCormack. However, video replays showed the Mayobridge man standing in the restricted area while the ball was in flight.

McCormack and his defenders remonstrated with the umpires – however they and referee Pat McEnaney elected to award the goal.
