Fitzy to test Déise against Wexford
The game is been played to mark the official opening of new dressing rooms of the Brickey Rangers club at Bushy Park, three miles outside Dungarvan.
Waterford fans will be interested to see the make up of Davy Fitzgerald selection against Colm Bonnar’s men, who face a crucial All-Ireland qualifier against Tipperary in a fortnight.
The chief issues facing the manager are the troublesome full-back berth along with whether or not to start the Prendergast brothers, Declan and Seamus, along with Ken McGrath, who all impressed off the bench in the semi-final victory over Clare.
While Waterford are planning one further outing before the Munster final – against Tipperary in Semple Stadium next week – this will be Wexford’s final game before the All-Ireland qualifiers on July 3.
Bonnar said: “We will be going flat out against Waterford to help ascertain exactly where we stand.
“This is an important outing in our preparations for the Tipperary game and we will be treating it in that way.”
