Tipp’s long-awaited breakthrough

TIPPERARY’S sensational win over Kerry in last night’s Munster U21 Football Championship final in Tralee gives them their first title in the grade since the championship was introduced in 1962.

Tipp’s long-awaited breakthrough

It was Tipp’s fourth final appearance in-a-row and their 10th in total. They now join Limerick (2000) and Waterford (2003) with one title each.

In the 49 years of the championship Kerry have won it 25 times; Cork are next with 21, while Clare are the only county now without a title.
