Clare players meet to plan next move in McNamara row

The players are expected to comment publicly at some stage today on Clare County Board chairman Michael O’Neill’s plans for talks between the parties over the coming weekend. The players indicated their unwillingness to play for McNamara next season, but the Scariff man was ratified for 2010 by a county board meeting held on Tuesday evening.

County board chairman O’Neill believes the dispute between the county’s senior hurlers and team management can be resolved within 10 days. O’Neill is heading a three-man mediation committee and a series of meetings will begin over the weekend.
