Television footage set to clear Geraghty

REVERSE ANGLE television footage seems certain to clear Graham Geraghty of any wrongdoing in an incident involving Tyrone midfielder Sean Cavanagh in Saturday’s All-Ireland SFC quarter-final.

The images, broadcast on The Sunday Game, showed the former All-Ireland winning skipper attempting to play the ball on the ground as Cavanagh fell, whereas in ‘real time’ it seemed that he followed through with his kicking boot and struck the player on the head.

Geraghty has been in the wars twice this year. The first was when television coverage of the drawn game with Dublin pinpointed two separate incidents of head-high tackles.
