STEPHEN Frampton may be biased, but he reckons the match-up of Waterford and Limerick in Sunday’s Munster final is the shot in the arm hurling needs.

“It’s a refreshing Munster final, with all due respect to Tipperary and Cork,” says Frampton. “Without sounding the usual cliché, that has to be good for hurling, and hurling needs it badly when you see how it’s struggling in some parts of the country.”

A star wing-back throughout the nineties for the Déise, he acknowledges that there’s a depth to the Waterford panel this season compared to previous years.
