Writing in the Tipperary-Limerick match programme, O’Gorman said coaching and games development were “a major item of expenditure for the Munster Council”, adding the aims of such schemes were “to maximise playing numbers and to raise the standards of the games”.

“The Munster Council reinvests a considerable percentage of its income from the championship gate receipts back down to the clubs in the province through club development grants, Gaeltacht scholarships, third level scholarships and bursaries, hurling and football development grants, coaching initiatives, our two full-time provincial games managers, and full-time games promotion officers in each county and third-level college.”
