MEATH boss Sean Boylan has backed goalkeeper David Gallagher to answer his county’s call after five long years on the bench.

Gallagher has been on the panel since 1999 but is now ready to claim the number one jersey on a regular basis following Cormac Sullivan's shock retirement.

Sullivan, 26, informed Boylan last week he was quitting football because of work and family commitments.
