Kilkenny angry at officials over ticket allocation

KILKENNY are up in arms over their ticket allocation for next Sunday’s Guinness All-Ireland hurling final against Clare in Croke Park. Their anger is directed at officials in headquarters both at the quality of the tickets and the number they received - a total of 11,000 to date.

”We are very disappointed with what tickets we got,’’ comments County Board Chairman Ned Quinn. ”After getting a second allocation, we now have up to 11,000 - and that includes our minor allocation of 2,500.

“What we find hard to understand is that last year Tipperary got 12,000 tickets. They had no team in the minor final and Croke Park had 10,000 less of a capacity,” he added. “We feel we are being hard done by!’’
