Wing back John Rodgers will make his first championship start with Roscommon in the opening round of the Connacht SFC on Sunday, although he did make an appearance in last year’s qualifier against Kildare.

Cavan midfielder Dermot McCabe has been ruled out of the Championship replay with Down because he is to have keyhole surgery on his knee injury.
McCabe, who missed the first meeting on 16 May because of the ongoing problem, is due to have the operation on 27 May, three days before the Breffni replay.
The Gowna star, a key player for Cavan, has been troubled by injury since dislocating a kneecap.
He said the surgery would clean the knee out and also repair some tendons.
