Ó hAilpín keeps tight rein on Kelly and points Rebels in right direction

WHEN Cork beat Waterford in the Munster Championship back in May, Eoin Kelly gave a man-of-the-match display with six magnificent points from play.

Yesterday, the Waterford captain was held scoreless by Sean Óg O hAilpín and that duel between two of the game’s most skilful players had a huge bearing on the outcome.

O hAilpín said: “I never expected to be marking Eoin. I thought he would be playing at midfield where he had been selected. But we have a policy of marking the man who is put on us and to follow him all over the place.
